Rowing Boats and Reflections in Bath with Catherine Beale

Join watercolour artist Catherine Beale for this 45 minute Arty Class webinar exploring boat reflections. Filmed live from England on 2nd November 2021.

**See Reference photo and recommended materials below**

In this inspiring prelude to her full, 2-3 hour workshop webinar, Catherine will teach you step-by-step how to form your own impressionistic riverscape as she introduces you to her “gravity painting” techniques.

You will watch the way pooling watercolours behave and experiment as Catherine helps you use more water and fewer brushstrokes. Learn how to merge colours on the page to create loose foliage on the river banks and use table salt to suggest foliage detail and how to add deep, shadowed tones straight from the tube. Look at how to preserve the white of the paper to highlight the rowing boat of luminous white and lastly how to lift paint off to resemble ripples on the water.
