A shorter prelude to Howard's longer, 2-3 hour workshop webinar, you will commence learning how to use tonal values resulting in being able to achieve a tonal balance in your paintings.


Howard will be working in Portrait orientation (Vertical format)

MATERIALS

• PAPER: 15 x 11 inch. NOT surface. 140lb (300gsm) Any good quality cotton rag paper is ideal. I will using Arches.


• PAINTS: (Must be Tube paints) Colours x 6: Ultramarine Blue / Burnt Sienna / Cadmium Red Light (or Vermilion) Raw Sienna / Paynes Grey / White Gouache


• BRUSHES: x 4:1 inch Flat (Synthetic & Natural blend) / Size 20 Round ( or large Mop) / Size 6 round with good pointed tip / Size 2 or 3 Rigger (please include any personal favourites)


• OTHER: 3b Pencil / Putty Eraser / Kitchen Paper / (1”) Masking Tape / Flat water tub / Palette with large mixing area ( A white enamel camping plate is ideal) / An atomizer water spray bottle / A board to tape your watercolour paper to / Plus any personal favourite items.
