SUMMARY

As part of the Search Press Artist & Author exhibition at Patchings, join David as he walks you through 3 mini-demos as follows:

1. Creating splashes of waves hitting rocks using the wet-in-wet technique, together with negative painting.

2. Suggesting movement in breaking waves with sweeping brush-strokes, masking fluid, scratching and stabbing with a scalpel.

3. Rendering sparkling water on a calm sea with an Arab dhow as the focal point, using dry-brush methods and white gouache.

For the third mini-demo, David will attempt to make as complete a composition as possible.
