In this prelude to her full, 2-3 hour workshop webinar, Alex will start by showing you how to begin painting food with colours, ink and poses. She will then explain the steps she takes to successfully create a vibrant painting whilst using watercolour sparingly.

Recommended materials

• PAPER: Arches cold press or rough paper

• PAINTS: Watercolours: Quinacridone gold (Windsor-Newton)/ Greens (Indigo blue plus quin gold) and W-N green-gold and neutral tint (W-N)/ mix for grey: ultramarine blue (W-N) and burnt sienna (W-N)

Sepia ink (FX) - acrylic

• BRUSHES: Black Velvet brushes (10 & 12) or similar + Escoda round (8) + Small (rigger) brush • OTHER: Water/paper towels/ Pen +charcoal pencil. Pen (Alex buys this in pieces: nib and holder, then puts them together. Doesn’t matter what it is so long as you can dip it into the ink bottle and draw fines lines as necessary)
