SUMMARY

In this prelude to his full, 2-3 hour workshop webinar, join Barry to paint the impressive sight of falling water over rocks and boulders. Barry will guide you through this introductory painting in bite sized chunks so that you can get to grips with the way he puts paint to paper.

You will get to grips with this wonderfully fluid and transparent medium of watercolour and watch all your colours mix and merge on the paper producing untold colour combinations as if by magic and by learning the way to not over-mixing the spectre of mixing MUD will be a thing of the past.

MATERIALS

• PAPER: Watercolour paper, approx 6 x 7 ins

Tape a piece of watercolour paper to a board or stiff card. Surface: Barry will be using ROUGH but NOT or Cold Pressed will also work well as there is a lot of texture in this scene. At this stage it would be a good idea to have a slightly larger piece of paper to work on as there would then be room to try out your colour mixes beforehand if you so wish.

• PAINTS: Barry strongly recommends you use Artists quality watercolours as you will be wanting maximum transparency in the colours and the cheaper brands’ add binders and fillers to keep prices low . Barry use Schmincke Horadam Artists Watercolours.
